AMY SPANGLER SCHOLARSHIP FUND

 

In honor of Amy Spangler's years of dedication and service to breastfeeding families and the field of Lactation Consulting SELCA has developed a scholarship fund in Amy's name. This Fund will be a permanent part of SELCA to be used for such things a Membership Dues, Conference Fees, Application Fee for the IBLCE exam. Donations are accepted in honor or memory of a loved one.

Amy Spangler MN, RN, IBCLC, is a wife, mother, nurse, lactation consultant, educator, and author. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Ohio State University and her master's degree in maternal and child health from the University of Florida. Amy is a registered nurse, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a former president of the International Lactation Consultant Association, and a former chair of the United States Breastfeeding Committee. Amy has worked with mothers, babies, and families for over 30 years. She and her husband live in Atlanta, Georgia, and have two sons.

Amy recently served as a judge for the inaugural Lactation Consultant Hall of Excellence. The Lactation Consultant Hall of Excellence was launched by Medela Inc. at the 2

006 International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) Conference, and recognizes U.S. - based lactation consultants who exemplify best practices, hard work and outstanding dedication to their profession.

The Lactation Consultant Hall of Excellence judges each received a service award to donate to the charity of their choice.
