You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello…

As Black History Month in the United States comes to a close, SELCA wants to  share a bit of  information that could  help focus the lines that connect the history of infant feeding, modern day health inequities and our important work with mothers and families.

We hope that you will take time to check out these stories.

Consider this great resource list  if you want to learn more about the impact of “race” and ethnicity on the picture of  breastfeeding and  public health.

However, as we say goodbye to Black History Month, SELCA says HELLO!  The challenges and achievements last throughout the year, not just in February.  We commit to continuing our support to IBCLCs, Lactation supporters, and families of color year-round, and celebrating!  To start, we would like to highlight the current International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) President Mudiwah Kadeshe in this inspirational video.
